““At the end of the day, it’s my job to entertain people.”
After doing this for a while, I’ve come to understand that simple truth. People work hard. When they go out, they’re looking to unwind, have a little fun, connect with friends and family—and by golly, hear some good live music.
So that’s what I aim to deliver every time I step on stage.
I get a lot of requests and do my best to honor as many as I can. My setlist stretches from Zach Bryan to John Prine, the Eagles, Petty, Jack Johnson, Dylan, Croce, Fleetwood Mac, Smashing Pumpkins—plus blues, bluegrass, old-school and modern country, the Grateful Dead, Phish, Dave Matthews… and on and on.
To keep things fresh, I often use backing tracks with drum rhythms and keyboard accompaniments. It adds texture and variety to the show, and people really seem to enjoy the full sound it brings.
My original songs also tend to land well with audiences—they’re quirky, funny, and relatable. A few favorites:
“The Red Brick Road” – A whimsical look at Munchkin Land life after the Wicked Witch kicks the bucket.
“Mosquito” – A simple blues tune featuring harmonica, where the singer begs the mosquito to please go bother someone else.
“Say Bye to Gloria” – A nostalgic, heartfelt tune sung to the worm on the hook. It’s a reflection on childhood: fishing trips, gnome tracks, smoke bombs, Bigfoot sightings, and chasing frogs in the spring house.
I am, first and foremost, an entertainer. It’s not always easy, but I do it because I love it.
